Beginning a new body of work 🌿

Beginning a new body of work 🌿

It's the first day of Spring here (in the Northern Hemipshere). It's also called Imbolc and Lá le Bríde. I love the arrival of Spring 🌿 It marks the the end of Winter and the beginning of a new cycle of life. The brighter days and (hopefully) milder weather are a welcome change. It's a season of growth, and holds the potential for new things to grow and blossom.    I've started working on a new body of work. The ideas and inspiration behind this body of work has been swirling around my head since this time last year. It's...

Opening of my Winter Gallery ✨

Opening of my Winter Gallery ✨

This weekend I opened my Winter Gallery. It was so wonderful to welcome in new and familiar faces to my creative space. This quirky, little, old building has become home to my art-making for the past few months. It was a pleasure to be showcasing and sharing some new paintings and pieces that have been created here. I didn't capture any photos of the crowds that trickled in and gathered all day as I was too busy chatting but I did manage to run around before the opening and take some photos of the space to share with you here! ...

Painting Workshop X Aoife Ireland

Painting Workshop X Aoife Ireland

I spent a wonderful Saturday morning at Aoife Ireland's Cottage in Adare leading a painting workshop. The theme of the workshop was Autumn Leaves. Aoife McNamara is a luxury sustainable fashion brand that creates unique garments inspired by nature to protect nature. It was very inspiring to be painting amongst her own creations in her quaint cottage shop.  The atmosphere was calm, cosy and creative as I guided each person to create their own abstracted leaves painting. We painted on handmade cotton rag paper (a personal favourite surface of mine) using acrylic paints. The results were fantastic, each person expressing...
